Appointment Information

Thank you for choosing Rosyth Chiropractic Clinic.

If you would like to book using our online system then please CLICK HERE to be redirected. You can then select from one of 3 options:

  • New Patient – patients who are new to Rosyth Chiropractic Clinic (or Dalgety Bay Chiropractic Clinic).
    • The booking confirmation email will contain electronic forms to complete, so please check and complete them all when you receive your email.
  • Re-Assessment – patients who we have seen before at Rosyth Chiropractic Clinic or Dalgety Bay Chiropractic Clinic, but have not been in for at least 2 years.
    • The booking confirmation email will contain electronic forms for you to complete to update our Chiropractor on your current health status, and to ensure your information is correct. Please make sure you complete the forms when you receive your booking email.
  • Standard Appointment – for EXISTING PATIENTS ONLY. If you fall into the categories above then please do not select this type of appointment. If you book a standard appointment and it has been over 2 years since your last visit then we will contact you to book you in for a Re-Assessment appointment to allow our Chiropractor the appropriate amount of time to assess and treat you. If you are unsure how long it has been then please contact us first.

What happens after I book my appointment?

On booking your appointment you will be sent an email confirming the date and time and some electronic forms attached for completion that you can access by clicking a series of links on the booking message. Some of the forms require an electronic signature, which you can do by using your fingertip/stylus on a smart phone/tablet; or by using the mouse/track pad on a PC or laptop.

Two days before your appointment you will be emailed a reminder with all of the appointment details on it, and a means to contact us should you have any questions.

What happens when I arrive?

If you are driving and there is space on our drive then please make use of it, and please ensure that you park facing the building, not across the drive or on the grass. On arrival at the clinic please come in, close the front door and take a seat in our waiting area. There is no need to knock/ring the door bell. Our Chiropractor will come and meet you when they are ready. The forms you have completed and your medical background will be discussed.

We will then discuss what has brought you to the clinic, asking questions to obtain as many details as possible. Following this, a physical examination will take place. This will include joint range of motion testing, joint and muscle palpation, orthopaedic and neurological testing. Ideally, we do this with some clothing removed, and we have gowns available to wear. However, we understand that not everyone is comfortable with this, and remaining fully clothed is fine.

If appropriate you will then receive a diagnosis and treatment plan from your Chiropractor. If your case is particularly complex, you may need to return to the practice for your initial consultation to be completed.

An initial consultation will last around 40 minutes. Subsequent treatments will last approximately 20 minutes.

What should I wear?

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. For men, we ask that you wear or bring shorts. For women, shorts and a vest top are ideal. Please avoid wearing skinny jeans, or any clothing that is tight.

What is involved in the treatment?

Any treatment given is dependent on your presenting complaint, general health status and medication, and varies from patient to patient.

Treatment may include, but is not limited to:

  • Chiropractic Adjustment
  • Joint Mobilisations
  • Soft Tissue Massage
  • Western Medical Acupuncture
  • Kinesio or Athletic Taping
  • Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage (IASTM)
  • Soft Tissue Release
  • Stretches
  • Home Exercises

Our treatment modalities are offered as part of a care plan – we do not offer massage or Western acupuncture as stand-alone treatments.

Do I need to consult my GP first?

No. As primary healthcare practitioners who are registered with the General Chiropractic Council, our Chiropractors are able to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions without the need for a GP referral. We will refer you to your GP if your problem is outwith our scope of practice.
